ABOUT ME
Student. Dancer. Choreographer. Human.
Kassidy grew up in the historic city of Savannah, Georgia where she began her dance training in her mother's dance studio, Coastal Performing Arts Academy. She also attended Esther F. Garrison SVPA in middle school for dance and in 2017 she graduated with honors from Savannah Arts Academy as a dance major. At Coastal, Kassidy studied ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre, hip hop, and contemporary; she also studied modern, dance history, contemporary/classical partnering, and dance composition at Savannah Arts during high school. From the age of seven until she was 18, Kassidy was apart of the competitive dance company at her mother's studio where she spent many weekends traveling up and down the East Coast to attend conventions and competitions. During her competitive years, Kassidy was awarded numerous scholarships and accolades for her performances. During her time at Savannah Arts, Kassidy was a finalist for the Governor's Honors Program, attended the National High School Dance Festival, was a member of the National Dance Honors Society, and received the George Balanchine Award for choreography.
Over the years, choreography has become a huge part of Kassidy's life and she now spends her summers and breaks choreographing pieces for her mother's company and other studios in the southeast. She has been recognized regionally and nationally for her pieces, obtaining choreography awards and "Judge's picks" from competitions/conventions such as: Encore DCS, Onstage NY, DanceMakers inc., Fusion NDC, Shake The Ground, and Platinum. After graduation, she first attended Marymount Manhattan College in NYC as a dance major and then spent a year at The Ohio State University department of dance. Today, Kassidy is furthering her studies at The University of Georgia where she is a Dance Dawg and is studying Entertainment and Media studies with plans of minoring in dance.
